First Day of School introduction of yourself…
I’m Katherine Hudson – owner of many beautiful tents and décor at Arabian Tents, aesthetic perfectionist and party girl!
Tell us what you love?
I love quirky, colourful and eclectic objects…things with a story behind them…my office is filled with items from my travels like a white dove I got in Belgium, a vintage turquoise tea-set I found in an antique shop in Edinburgh, blankets from a trip to Argentina, oh, and a giant parrot from a Glyndebourne opera!
Tell us a bit about your HQ…
HQ is an unassuming barn in Sussex, but inside is an Aladin’s cave of trinkets, beautiful fabrics, interesting furniture and lots and lots of cushions!
What made you start up the business?
I wanted to put on a party, in a woodland, and looked for a tent to use that would be fitting for this environment but could find absolutely nothing apart from white plastic marquees. I realised there was a big gap in the market for beautiful structures rather than simply utilitarian ones… and having always enjoyed hosting and parties started the journey that took me to where I am today.
