A Hand-fasting Ceremony…
Today we share with you the awesome wedding of Matt & Mel. They had a hand-fasting ceremony and marquee reception held at Mr & Mrs Unique venue H-Coo Events @The Grange. With the handmade decor, cider-pig drink van, rodeo bull and bouncy castle it looked such a fun day with plenty of laughter had by all… What a cool couple!
Here Elizabeth, wedding co-ordinator at H-Coo Events/The Grange, tells us about the day, what she loved and how they used the space at The Grange to make it a day to remember…
Elizabeth…
Name of the couple: Matt & Mel
Wedding Venue: H-Coo @ The Grange
Reception Venue: H-Coo @ The Grange
Why you love this wedding…
I love this wedding so much, Matt & Mel’s enthusiasm from day one was contagious. They said they weren’t really sure they were going to do the whole wedding thing, having been together a long time and with two sons. Then after attending a friends festival style wedding they realised they wanted a wedding that was really fun and creative.
What were the couple’s requirements…
The couple wanted a Vintage/Festival Wedding and they had lots of ideas how they could do this and on a budget too. The plan was to do as much themselves as possible, with the added help from friends and family. The mood was always going to be informal and relaxed. It was really nice to help out with the food and play a small part.
With the venue being flexible, what part I play in organising weddings varies depending on the couple’s requirements. They did an excellent job in planning a day that was personal and unique to them.
Favourite details of the day…
There was a lot of creative energy and personal touches, the majority of the planning was down to the couple, and the décor was the Brides own with help from friends. From fire jugglers to the vintage Cider Pig Bar, to the live band in the evening, there was a lot of thought and planning put into the day. With a bouncy castle and rodeo bull there was plenty to entertain.
Favourite moment of the day…
My favourite overall thing was that Matt & Mel really embraced the space in the Orchard, with a blessing ceremony in the day & guests camping over night. There was a really relaxed vibe to the day.
With an outdoor blessing there is always an element of tension and finger crossing willing the weather to behave; once the morning clouds had dispersed it was the most blissfully warm summers day.
Just as the sun starting to mellow down, their talented photographer (Noel Deasington- also the Grooms cousin) captured the most amazing shots of the couple, I especially love the intimate photos by the barn in the horses field, truly beautiful.
Thanks Elizabeth for sharing this wonderful day with us held at The Grange, Noel Deasington for the photos, plus a huge congratulations to Matt and Mel for finally getting wed. What an awesome day!!
