Coughing & Sneezes!

Anyone else been suffering from the number of colds and bugs going round?! Actually feels like Summer has been cruelly snatched away from us and replaced by dark evenings and rainy skies. I have to say I am actually quite the fan of Autumn but for many years Ive always remembered October to be quite warm, but its been dark skies and wet feet so far… Boo! Not been great on the old health I must say and this week Ive been a bit quieter than normally as I try to beat this cold off!

However saying that I had a little road trip mid week to Bristol for a photo shoot organised by the lovely Lizzie at Wedding Yurts. We had already postponed the shoot once down to bad weather and we decided no matter what we would go through with the shoot on Wednesday…

I was secretly hoping that the sun would do me proud and put its hat on, but we were unfortunately subjected to a pretty rainy, miserable day. BUT there is nothing better than a talented Lizzie and her fab husband Jim to put a smile on your face!! Never down beaten and full of ideas they had set up their gorgeous yurt undercover at Arnos Vale… a VERY beautiful but slightly creepy crematory in the dark! Ive never seen a place like it, it really was an unusual, visually stunning place to hang out, even if it was raining all day long! A massive thumbs up to the models who took part and put up with teeny tiny clothes in such cold weather!

I also got to meet the very talented Noel Deasington. Im a massive fan of his photography work and bless him. he worked hard all day long in the difficult conditions!

The shoot included a champagne yurt and light up disco floor and it was pitch black before we made the 3 hour journey home in the rain.

However as you can see from the photo above, he managed to get some great shoots which will all be seen in our next AW14 online magazine out later this month, along with Lizzie’s styling tips Woohoo!

On a personal note I went a visited my friends flat the other day and it really inspired me to have a good clear out! Her home was so walm and welcoming, full of art, candles and beautiful ornaments. Im desperate to extend my home and have my own little office and I have to be honest… things have slipped whilst I juggle two kids, husband, our menagerie of animals, housework and being my own boss recently!

I had been putting it off as saw no point if we were going to do work on the house soon… however I just started to work through things to see if they were needed or not. I made several rubbish bags, two charity bags and tidied the things to keep. It actually cleared my head and lifted some weight off my shoulders… so thats my promise until the new year- every week I’m going to tackle something in the house i don’t like and needs improving… try it, it will make you feel better about the home you live in!
