Where did you get your inspiration from?
Tim Dunk Photography… My favourite place in London is the Barbican Estate. I have wanted to shoot there for a while. The brutalist architecture, its immense size, the clean lines and curves which create such interesting light and shadow, and it’s ‘grey’, create the perfect storm for an atmospheric kind of photography. As if that isn’t enough, the Barbican then, out of nowhere, welcomes you into its beating heart; the green, abundance of the Conservatory. That incongruity is what we wanted to bring into our shoot.
How did you find the suppliers who made this concept come to life?
Although I am Leeds based, I am part of a large community of wedding industry suppliers nationwide. I have built many great relationships.
I met our florist, Eram from Boom Blooms, at a photography workshop. We both really liked one another’s work and wanted to work together.
Via social media we contacted, Lara, the designer, Freya, the make up artist, and Heather, our model. Our aim was to bring a team together who were as excited by the drama of the space as us.
What details are your favourite, and why?
There are so many little nooks, and larger vistas, on the estate. With each turn, there is something new to see and document.
