Introduce yourself…
Hello! My name is Megan and I run the weddings at River Cottage (lucky me!).
What are a few of your favourite things?
You can’t work at River Cottage without a real passion for food and nothing pleases me more than cooking for friends and family. I am also a self-confessed caffeine addict (especially on the morning of a wedding!) so a freshly made flat white is a very welcome sight for me!
Tell us about where the magic happens – where’s your HQ?
I am based at the farm itself on the Devon/Dorset border and our office overlooks breath-taking views across the valley, which can be quite distracting!
What do you love most about your job?
Menu-sampling is definitely up there on the list of job perks but being able to work outside in the fresh country air and knowing that we’re creating memories that will be treasured forever is very fulfilling.
What makes your work unique?
Working on a farm which produces lovely organic veggies from the kitchen garden and seeing them transformed into a delicious dish in the kitchen is very special and having that traceability from the farm to your plate is something you don’t see very often at wedding venues.
