Post-Wedding Reflection…
The past few months have been a whirlwind of stress, love, laughter, tears, and some of the best times of our life so far; The post-wedding blues have (just about!) passed and wedding planning is a distant memory!
Hindsight is the best teacher, and although our wedding day was amazing, I’ve come away with a few nuggets of advice to pass on…
1. Skip the traditions that don’t really matter to you…
Don’t feel obliged to include anything in your wedding just because it’s tradition, or because your mum/nan/sister did it at their wedding. Whilst we still had speeches, a first dance and cut the cake, we ditched pretty much everything else and I’m so glad we did. No favours, no formal sit down meal, no bouquet toss…and you know what? No one noticed or complained about a single thing!
2. Delegate, delegate, delegate…
Like a lot of couples, we didn’t like the idea of asking for help in the lead up, and even though we managed to get everything finished, I wish we had accepted those offers of help! I can guarantee that most of your friends and family will be more than happy to lend a hand, and will be thrilled to be a part of it.
